People's Princess

Princess Diana had many accomplishments, but one that took to the public hard was when she publicly shook hands with an AIDS patient without gloves in 1987 to shatter the widespread myth that the virus spread through physical touch. The Global Landmine Ban was another accomplishment of hers. In 1997 she walked through an active minefield in Angola with the HALO Trust, raised crucial international awareness and helped build momentum for the signing of the Ottawa Treaty banning anti-personnel landmines. One last astonishing accomplishment was when she served as president of the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, raised over £1 million for cancer research, and opened children's cancer units, alongside advocating for mental health.
