Hinckley is home to three parks; available to residents to enjoy for picnicking and play. Come out and enjoy some nature at one of our lovely parks! Pioneer Park Pioneer Park, located on Route 30 at the far west end of the village, adjacent to the Hinckley-Big Rock Elementary School is a nostalgic village park. The open space and large shade trees make this a perfect place to visit often whether for a play date, picnic, group outing, or for just a quiet getaway. Located within the park is a: shelter building with kitchen facilities that may be rented for group activities lighted tennis court and multi-use area that is often used for basketball, soccer, or floor hockey play area which includes a Climbing Web, Xcelerator and Tilted Sky runner spinning, swings, and parallel bars swinging bench where adults can sit and relax

Rental Rental Fee: $50 resident of Hinckley Fire District / $200 non-resident The rental fee is to be paid within 1 week of making the reservation. Please call to reserve your chosen date before sending in your payment. This check will be cashed upon receipt to hold the reservation date. If not received, the rental date will be released. Damage Deposit: $200 deposit to be paid when shelter key is picked up. The damage deposit check will be held until after the rental date. The check will be returned in full to the renter if no damage expense is to be charged and the key has been returned. If the key has not been returned or damage to the park property is noted, the check will be cashed and the renter will be contacted by the Village Clerk’s Office. Key Pick-up: The shelter key may be picked up on Friday before a weekend rental or the day before a midweek rental from the Village Clerk’s Office. The key must be returned to the drop box in front of the Village Office by 8:30 a.m. the day following the rental. The clerk’s office is NOT OPEN ON SATURDAY, so do not forget to pick up the key by Friday. Hours of Rental: Dawn-Dusk Use of Alcohol: Alcohol is allowed for individual consumption as per state law.

Garfield Park Garfield Park is a small neighborhood park nestled in our residential area and has play equipment for children and a small pavilion. It is located on Garfield Street two blocks north of Route 30. The equipment at this park is geared for the younger children. Play equipment includes swings and a modular playset. There is ample open space for just running or playing small group games. Streamside Park Streamside Park is just that, a park along our local stream, Little Rock Creek on S. Sycamore Street. While there is no play equipment at Streamside Park, it is a quiet open space providing the perfect place to take youngsters to fish in the spring or to sit by and enjoy the sounds of the small creek. .
